1. Who we are

heyjune. (https://www.heyjune.co.uk) is a family pet home for photos, household sharing, and optional features such as Find listings and Pawtag. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use the service.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email hello@heyjune.co.uk.

2. Data we collect

  • Account — email address, authentication session, sign-in records, and (if you use Google sign-in) basic profile details Google shares for that login
  • Profile — name, username, bio, avatar, visibility choices, and badges
  • Pets & posts — pet details, captions, photos, videos, likes, and comments
  • Household — invites, membership links, and household notifications
  • Social — follows, blocks, and messages where you use Find
  • Commerce — order and shipping details for Pawtag, phone cases, or yearbook when you buy them (processed via Stripe)
  • Support & safety — reports, moderation notes, and feedback you send
  • Technical — logs needed to run the app, push subscription endpoints if you enable pings, and anonymous analytics used to improve heyjune (part of signup)

3. How we use data

We use personal data to:

  • Provide the service you signed up for
  • Show content to people you connect with according to product rules
  • Send notifications, digests, and emails you have turned on
  • Process payments and fulfil physical products
  • Keep accounts secure and enforce our house rules
  • Improve heyjune using anonymous analytics collected as part of the service
  • Comply with law and respond to valid requests

4. Legal bases (UK & EEA)

Depending on the activity, we rely on:

  • Contract — to run your account and deliver features you use
  • Legitimate interests — security, abuse prevention, and improving the product in a way that respects your rights
  • Consent — push notifications when you opt in, and marketing-style emails where required
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information

5. Sharing & processors

We use trusted providers to run heyjune, including Supabase (authentication, database, storage), Google (optional sign-in when you choose Continue with Google), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and email/push infrastructure. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

Data may be processed in the UK, EEA, or other countries where those providers operate, with appropriate safeguards offered by the provider.

If you make a profile or pet public, other users or visitors may see that information as designed in the product.

6. Retention

We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for backups, disputes, and legal requirements. When you delete your account, we remove your profile and related content from the live product; copies may linger briefly in backups before they expire.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data through Settings where available, or by contacting us. You can object to certain processing and complain to the ICO (UK) or your local supervisory authority. Core service cookies and analytics are required to use heyjune and are accepted when you sign up.

8. Children

heyjune is built for families. If a child uses the service, a parent or guardian should supervise their account and what they post. Do not upload sexual or exploitative imagery of anyone, especially children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when practices or law change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
